A scene from my 2020 short film, Harbor. Billie accompanies her wife, Katherine, on a trip to reunite with Katherine's ex-lover Isolde. The visit forces all three women to consider the choices they've made and consider if they can find happiness in the in-between.

Staples Tuition Grants 2020

I created this video for Staples Tuition Grants, an organization that helps students at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut pay their college tuition. COVID-19 meant they were unable to have their annual awards ceremony, so the board asked me to make this video as a replacement.

ABOUT

Originally from Connecticut, I earned my MFA in Cinema from San Francisco State University in 2021. My first two short films, Come Home to Me and Harbor, have won awards as official selections in film festivals.

I am in the process of changing my name. All my work, awards, and degrees are under my current legal name, Margot Bruce.

I've been working in the Adobe Creative Suite for a little over a decade, and am comfortable with Premiere, Illustrator, Audition, Photoshop, and After Effects.

Recurring themes in my creative work are feminism, grief, water, queer identity, and fairy tales.
